Plymouth Pride 2008 – What happening at this year's event?
It's going to be a packed day, so to help you know what's on here is a brief guide. Free programmes will be available from venues and at the Guildhall on the day.

10.45 am – The sounds of Mardi Gras with samba band Crooked Tempo.
10.45 am – The raising of the Rainbow Flag by Jo Monk
to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the rainbow flag.
11.00 am - Ribbon cutting ceremony and speech to offi cially open Plymouth Pride
Event 2008 by the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress,
assisted by Miss Gay South West and Mr Gay UK (Plymouth).
Plymouth Sound Radio - live outside broadcast with the Black Thunder Crew
including music and interviews throughout the day.
Crooked Tempo with the lively sounds of samba music, playing throughout the day.
Circus Skills Entertainers.
Exhibitors Stands and Food Stalls.

3.00 pm – International Guest Speaker - the experiences of being a gay Muslim

LGBT History Exhibition
Holocaust Memorial Day Exhibition – Nazi Germany persecuted, incarcerated and
murdered millions of its own citizens and those of the countries it invaded, on the basis
of sexual orientation, disability, skin colour, ethnicity, religious belief, or political affi liation.

Time Line & Gay Greats – Famous historic LGBT events and people throughout history.
Pop Music – a look at the influence the gay scene, lesbians and gay men have had
on the music and entertainment industry.
