Plymouth Pride Event TrustPlymouth Pride Event is a constituted organisation which is a registered chairty, (number 1121778). It has a Board of Trustees who will give the appropriate steer to activities to ensure they are meeting the objectives of the charity. Plymouth Pride Event CommitteeRunning the events and activities is our dedicated voluntary organising committee. The organising committee has three lead members, fulfilling the roles of Chairperson, Secretary and Treasure. Chairperson: Mark Additionally we have our energetic group of volunteers who make up the rest of Plymouth Pride Event organising committee. This committee meets normally on a weekly basis and is the vibrant group who are planning and running the events. The committee members consist solely of volunteers; no-one is paid for by the Trust, although some volunteers represent groups who may pay them to attend on their behalf. In order that we have more focused and directed meetings the organising committee will be amending it's current meeting structure in the coming months. So instead of the large weekly committee meeting, we'll be moving towards smaller sub-committees which will have specific focus on a certain role. For example booking and organising the entertainments, running the website, marketing and publicity, health & safety and of course funding and sponsorship for Plymouth Pride Event. Anyone who would like to join the committees should either come along to one of the open meetings or drop us an email, info@plymouthprideevent.co.uk. We look forward to hearing from you soon. Volunteers: A little history: In June 2006 a separate organisation was estabilished Plymouth Pride Event. We held our first event with the LGBT Week with events across the city. Then in 2007, with support from our then sponsors and supporters, we organised Plymouth's first full LGBT Pride Event in the Guildhall, with further fringe events across the city. This was a great success and proved to the city that we have many vibrant and active LGBT communities. We look forward to seeing everyone again for the main event in the Guildhall and the fringe events in 2008. Some people within the region have questioned why we don't have a pride parade at our main pride event? We believe in taking part in the city-wide events which celebrates the diversity of our communities. We welcome comments and feedback to our aims and objectives. |
